Grants announced for saleyard improvements

Federal Transport Minister Albanese has announced the funding allocations to build or improve the safety and conditions at livestock saleyards and to upgrade other facilities used by the livestock transport industry. This is something the ALRTA fought for and won – it’s real, “on the ground” stuff that means so much to members.

The numbers tell the story: 119 ramps, 42 loading pens,  lighting in 16 yards as well as the installation or upgrade of truck washes, internal road fixes and new security gates will be the result of the $15m spend (thanks to  matching funding) on this program.

This document shows where the $$ are being spent.
