What is LivestockASSIST?
LivestockASSIST is a 24/7 national hotline for coordinating emergency responses when heavy vehicles carrying livestock are involved in incidents. Call 1800 4 ALRTA (1800 4 25782) for assistance. Based on NTI’s successful AccidentASSIST service, LivestockASSIST offers vehicle recovery, medical assistance, driver repatriation, trauma counseling, and message referral. This service is specifically tailored for livestock transport and connects to a network of local experts equipped to handle livestock recovery, round up escaped animals, and make veterinary decisions.

Costs
The hotline is free for all livestock transporters or anyone at the scene of an incident. Any direct costs, such as vehicle damage, stock loss, site clean-up, or towing, are the responsibility of the operator or their insurer. If you're insured with NTI, these costs are covered under your existing policy.
Why LivestockASSIST?
LivestockASSIST is a vital part of our industry’s animal welfare strategy. Since establishing the National Animal Welfare Committee in 2014, we’ve made significant strides in driver safety and animal welfare. We merged our TruckCare program with TruckSafe and launched the National Guide for Safe Design of Livestock Loading Ramps and Forcing Yards in 2015 to prevent safety and welfare incidents. LivestockASSIST provides a rapid national emergency response to minimize harm to drivers and animals when incidents occur. This service also helps protect our industry by showing our commitment to preventing incidents and managing them responsibly when they do happen.
Support NTI
NTI, a long-term national sponsor of ALRTA, has demonstrated a deep understanding of livestock transport by establishing LivestockASSIST. Please consider NTI insurance products as part of your risk protection strategy.
