For more than 40 years, the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA) has provided a national voice for livestock and rural transport operators.
Through our state member associations in Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia, and chapters in New South Wales and South Australia, ALRTA connects operators with the Australian Government, national regulators and the broader agricultural supply chain.
ALRTA is firmly committed to LSRI and its role in supporting a sustainable, nationally coordinated approach to truck-wash and effluent-management infrastructure.

As of 2025, many Australian livestock market truck-wash facilities participate in a 2% user-pays levy (administration fee) payable to Livestock Services Research & Innovations Inc (LSRI).
The fee is included in the usage invoice issued by the National Truckwash System key-holder operator and does not impose any cost on saleyards or councils.
Revenue from the LSRI levy supports livestock industry initiatives in partnership with Saleyards Australia Limited and ALRTA.

Important Information
The LSRI levy is voluntary and contractual, separate from statutory livestock transaction levies under the Primary Industries (Services) Levies Act 2024. Saleyard operators, councils and transporters should ensure their participation remains compliant with all relevant agreements and legislation.
